Dr. Giselle Faubel is a clinical psychologist with over 30 years’ experience in the fields of counseling and consulting psychology. Founder of numerous programs dedicated to enhance growth and development in both clinical and corporate realms; she has been the creator of innovative approaches to counseling individuals dealing with great adversities in life.
In her earlier years, as director of the Consultation Liaison program at Miami Children’s Hospital, Dr. Faubel developed a relaxation technique to help children with cancer deal with pain and fear; that was taught to the nurses in the oncology unit to help the children get better sleep. More recently she developed a hypnosis technique (Equuinox), to help war veterans cope with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. Her vast experience in the areas of outdoor adventure in combination with her clinical skills led to the development of her initial program “Corporate Adventure”, a ropes program that introduced the notion of team building and communication improvement within organizations; with the use of games and outdoor high and low element activities in the 1990’s, working with Dade County Public Schools and Florida International University.
As founder of the Equulibrium ® facility, she incorporated her passion with the outdoors and love of horses to create two equine assisted programs: Equus for Humanity, a not-for profit foundation, where individuals come from all over the world to learn the techniques of hippotherapy and engage in equine assisted activities to help develop skills within the workforce and in their private lives, and Join-up Leadership, a program where business leaders energize their skills, exercising their leadership with horses who effectively reflect back their authenticity and help them raise awareness in their lives.
Dr. Faubel holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Psychology from Boston College, A Master’s degree in Counseling and Consulting Psychology from Harvard University, and a Doctorate degree in Psychology from Miami Institute of Psychology. She taught at the American University in London, England for three years after graduating from Harvard and returned to the US to complete her doctorate degree and raise her two sons. Currently, Dr. Faubel continues to help transform people’s lives. She lives in Southwest Ranches, Florida where she coaches and practices with her herd of horses. Her facility is home for interns from five universities within the USA, where they learn the techniques and conduct research. As a consulting psychologist, she provides evaluations for the court system, corporate and personal settings, and travels the world teaching and helping organizations deal with change, communication, and transition.
